Arinori Inagawa is the only harmonica player who won the world championships both for chromatic harmonica and tremolo harmonica. He is one of the classical harmonica soloists of new generation. His classical repertoire ranges from Bach to contemporary compositions written for harmonica. He was born in Kanagawa/Japan. He took tremolo harmonica lessons with Hisayasu Nomura and Zen-ichi Ohba and- also studied chromatic harmonica under Yasuo Watani. Since 2000, he has won first prizes in both chromatic and tremolo categories at numrous national and international competitions, including three first prizes at World Harmonica Festival in Trossingen; Solo Tremolo (2005), Solo Chromatic Junior (2005) and Solo Chromatic with Test Piece (2009). In 2006, he appeared with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Ken-ichiro Kobayashi and the performance was broadcast by Japanese television. In 2013, he was invited to the World Harmonica Festival held in Germany as a guest performer, jury and lecturer. He is now active as a soloist with orchestras, choir ensembles and pianists in Japan, Germany, Singapore and China, Taiwan. |
